Hello!
My name is Jake Tobin Garrett and I'm writer, illustrator and cartoonist based in Toronto.
Working primarily in ink with splashes of colour, I aim to capture a sense of place and whimsy, expressing the familiar in unexpected ways. Since 2015, I have drawn hundreds of custom illustrations for people and sell artwork through my online store.
I've also worked with clients such as the LCBO, Chatelaine, Maisonneuve, Deciem, Book City, Environmental Defence, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and more.

Holiday Commissions
Currently open for holiday commissions, so if you're looking to get something done get in touch with me. Visit my Commissions page for more info on price, sizing, and process and use the form to submit a request.
If you have any question at all, don't hesitate to email me directly at jake@jaketobin.ca
Note: November - December get very busy and full quickly so if you're thinking of getting something done for the holidays it's best to book a spot sooner rather than later.

Just Launched: Lost Queer Bar Series
I've just launched a new series of six illustrations celebrating Toronto queer bars from days of yore--some that closed decades ago and others that were just lost during the pandemic.
Originally, drawn for the LCBO as part of the Pride 2023 programming, these illustrations are now available for purchase at 11x14 or 8x10 sizes.

New in the Shop
Someone once told me you can buy anything in Kensington Market except socks--I don't know if that's true, but the place sure is eclectic. While over the years it's shifted from grocery and food stores to more bars and restaurants, it's managed to keep its funky vibe intact.
This new print celebrates that vibe and a few of the folks that inhabit the market in a scene set at the bike rack sculpture at the entrance to the market at Augusta and College, complete with table and chairs that were for some reason taken out a few years ago.
Available as 8x10 or 11x14
